The LCT is supported by a secretariat headed by a Registrar. The Registrar is appointed by the Minister in consultation with the Judicial Service Commission. The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the LCT, the keeping of a public record of the proceedings of the LCT, the processing of the documents of the LCT, and the administering and controlling of the funds of the LCT.

The secretariat comprises of officers and staff of the LCT who are appointed by the Public Service Commission on terms and conditions determined by the Public Service Commission. The overall responsibility of the Secretariat is to facilitate the LCT in effective delivery and performance of its mandate and functions. The Secretariat is comprised of two departments, namely; Legal department, Finance and Administration department
